In the body of an email, submit a clear, brief outline of your proposal and short text samples. Do not send attachments at this stage. Include the following: tentative title, one sentence description, one paragraph description, detailed table of contents and the potential market you see for your book.
If we request a proposal, we will ask you to submit a full proposal and we will share our proposal guidelines at that time.
Include a short bio and links to your social media and/or blogs, other work, if available.
Allow up to 6 weeks for a reply (send a gentle reminder if you haven’t heard back from us in that time).
Unfortunately we are not able to provide critical feedback or advice in the event your book isn’t a good fit for us.
JKD Literary focuses primarily on non-fiction books: cookbooks, biographies, inspirational, self-help, women’s issues, the environment, social issues, plant medicine and gardening, homesteading and food preservation. That said, we are open to unique and timely ideas so if you feel you might be a good fit, please do reach out!
